World Cup Match Prediction: South Korea vs Ghana

One of these two nations could reposition themselves in the same group as Portugal and Uruguay before their final group stage game. A win for either South Korea or Ghana would put them back in the qualification race.

✔ 1X2 South Korea – Ghana

This game promises to be open and exciting between these two teams. Neither Korea nor Ghana seems to be far better than their opponents. However, we predict a short victory for South Korea.

✔ Correct Score Prediction South Korea – Ghana

Our prediction for the correct score for this 2022 World Cup fixture would be a tight game that would see the Koreans open the scoring in the first half. Ghana would then push forward but would not be able to come back.

South Korea win

This is our preferred scenario. South Korea seem to have a better team, and with Son still having a great season individually, the Asian nation has what it takes to turn the game around for them. 1-0 or 2-1 are preferred outcomes.

Draw

This scenario is possible. The two nations have a very similar level and it is difficult to predict how the match will turn out. It would not be surprising if the Koreans and Ghanaians were to draw 1-1 or 2-2.

Ghana win

This scenario seems to be the least likely. Ghana have some strengths to play with, but that may not be enough against a Korean team that is often difficult to break down. A maximum of one goal difference seems possible in case of a Ghanaian victory, for a score of 0-1 or 1-2.

✔ Half-time/Full-time Prediction: South Korea – 1st half : South Korea – 2nd half

In this fixture, we expect the Koreans to score quickly, perhaps in the first 15 minutes and then manage their lead through solid defence. Ghana’s chances to come back after the break would not change the final outcome of the game, namely a win for South Korea.

✔ Goalscorer Prediction South Korea – Ghana

In this game, we think the Korean star Heung-min Son will be the best placed to score, as will Wolverhampton striker Hee-Chan Hwang. On the other side of the field, Jordan Ayew could make the difference although we don’t see Ghana scoring.

✔ Double Chance Goalscorer Prediction:  H. Son / J. Ayew

As suggested above, this could be a chance to see two great players, Heung-Min Son and Jordan Ayew, find the back of the net. So we offer you this double chance goalscorer prediction.

📄 Analysis South Korea – Ghana

Pre-betting Analysis

The South Koreans won their second-round group with authority with five wins and a draw against Lebanon, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka. In the third round, Korea finished second, two points behind Iran but well ahead of the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

Ghana initially finished top of their group in the second round of African Zone qualifiers, level on points with South Africa. Only a better goal average allowed them to see the playoff against Nigeria. The Black Stars eventually eliminated the Super Eagles thanks to an away goal (0-0 then 1-1).

Current form

South Korea’s confidence is high. With four losses in their last sixteen games, South Korea are in good form, winning ten games in this streak. They did not play any big names in football, but this has the merit of keeping the Koreans’ hopes of a good World Cup alive.

The golden generation of Ghana from 2006-2014 has gradually retired. Since then, the Black Stars have failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup before being knocked out in the Round of 16 at the 2019 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, a team that had been used to at least the semi-finals since 2008. Worse still, Ghana were knocked out in the group stage during the last Africa Cup of Nations.
