A few things to remember
Get hold of a Hayya card
At the request of the Qatari authorities, all ticket holders, both local and international, have to get hold of a Hayya card, managed and delivered by the Qatari government.
The Hayya card serves as your entry permit to Qatar and gives you access to the stadium (alongside your match ticket, that is).
Ticket resales and refunds
As a ticket holder, you alone are authorised to give tickets to those hoping to attend. This can be free, or for a sum that does not higher than the original cost.
If you cannot attend a match, you can put your tickets up for sale on FIFA’s official platform for ticket resale.
The Covid problem
FIFA indicates that spectators will have to follow the health guidance set out by the Qatari state, notably any and all transport and travel.
As a spectator, you will have to ensure you are up to date on any health protocols put in place in your own country during the Covid pandemic before the start of the competition. Check the rules you must adhere to in order to be able to enter Qatar and return to your country.
When will the ticket offices open?
The first phase has already passed
The first sales period for Qatar World Cup tickets took place from the 19th of January to the 8th of February. FIFA reported that 17 million requests, from all over the world, had been made. The final, taking place on the 18th of December, had garnered 1.8 million requests alone.
Taking into account the capacity of the stadiums, all requests could not be fulfilled. FIFA broke the news to the lucky winners of the random draw on the 8th of March.
The second phase opened in March
The second sale period, still on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, opened on the 23rd of March and close on the 29th of March.
