Vinicius Junior has recently been at the center of intense transfer rumors. The Real Madrid star received numerous interesting proposals from Saudi Arabia, with offers promising astronomical earnings. As reported by MARCA, the forward was reportedly offered a staggering one billion euros to play in the Saudi Pro League over the course of five years.
Such a deal would have also meant a significant financial boost for Real Madrid, with the Saudis willing to pay the Spanish giants as much as 300 million euros to secure the Brazilian’s transfer. However, it has now been confirmed that discussions will not progress further. Vinicius Junior has opted to stay at Santiago Bernabeu, with plans to extend his contract with the club until 2030, which is soon to be finalised.
The official signing of the new extension may take place during Real Madrid’s stay in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup. However, the formal announcement is expected following the tournament, likely no later than July 13.
With his contract extension, Vinicius is set to earn approximately 20 million euros per season, including bonuses. Nevertheless, his base salary will remain capped at 15 million euros due to the strict wage policies upheld by Florentino Perez. The Real Madrid president aims to maintain a balanced salary structure to avoid internal discord within the squad.
