The forward Igor Thiago continues to make waves in European football. This Saturday, for instance, he found the back of the net once again during Brentford’s 3-0 victory over West Ham at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League. This performance has solidified his place as one of the standout Brazilians in the continent’s top leagues.

With this latest goal, the striker has now reached an impressive milestone of 22 goals in the competition, surpassing Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s single-season record in European football. Ronaldinho had scored 21 times during the 2006/2007 season while playing for Barcelona.

In addition to surpassing Ronaldinho’s record, Igor Thiago has achieved numbers that compare favourably to other big names in football. Specifically, he has equalled Neymar’s 22-goal record from the 2014/2015 season with Barcelona, further emphasising the remarkable nature of his current form.

At the same time, the forward has matched the achievements of players like Sonny Anderson, who had a brilliant stint with Lyon, and Márcio Amoroso, a standout performer for Udinese in the late 1990s. As a result, Igor Thiago now finds himself among an elite group of prolific Brazilian scorers.
