Serie A has featured a number of key trades among some of the top teams in the league which could cause some changes in the pecking order this season. Find below some of the latest trade news from this summer.
Udinese Acquire Iker Bravo From Bayer Leverkusen
Udinese confirmed that they will be signing Iker Bravo for 10 million euros from Bayer Leverkusen on a contract that runs until 30 June 2028.
Iker Bravo played his last season on loan at Real Madrid Castilla, scoring 20 goals in 25 appearances. He has been a consistent performer in the Spain youth set-up, boasting 11 goals in 14 caps at the under-11 level. He finished the 2023 summer as ‘MVP’ of the U19 European Championship, scoring against Denmark in the group stage and against France in the final.
At only 19 years of age, Bravo is definitely a player for the future and could play a significant part in the Udinese team for years to come. Expect him to start much of this season and get a big chunk of playing time despite a lack of experience.
Daniel Maldini To Monza From AC Milan
AC Monza have confirmed that Daniel Maldini will be added to their ranks on a permanent basis after AC Milan agreed to a transfer. The attacking midfielder was given out on loan to Empoli last season until January and then went to Monza. He scored four goals in 11 appearances for the team and looked like a great first for the team in his short stint.
The contract was signed until 30 June 2026, with option of renewal if certain conditions are met. There has been no mention of any fees paid to acquire Maldini but a number of sources have said that Milan will get no or very little in transfer fees up front. They have however, managed to put in a 50% resale clause entitling them to half of any money Monza get from a sale down the line.
The transfer should be good for Maldini in terms of playing time, as he would’ve struggled to get regular starts with plenty of options on both wings for Milan.
AC Milan Sign Strahinja Pavlovic From Salzburg
AC Milan made their second addition this summer with the pickup of Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic from Fußballclub Red Bull Salzburg. The contract will run until 30 June 2028, with an option for an additional year.
The 23-year-old Strahinja developed in the youth academy of Partizan Belgrade, where he made his first team debut back in February 2019. He played two seasons for Partizan, where he made 57 appearances and scored 2 goals and was a big part of the team’s success in winning the Serbian Cup.
After Partizan, Pavlovicplayed for Monaco, Cercle Brugge, and Basel before moving to Red Bull Salzburg. He made a total of 71 appearances and scored six goals across this period of time and won the Austrian Bundesliga title. He also played against Milan in the Champions League.
In terms of international experience, Pavlovia has amassed 38 caps and scored four goals for the Serbian national team. He has been a starter for his country for the past few years and was featured in the European Championship in Germany this summer.
AC Milan Give Up Lorenzo Colombo to Empoli
AC Milan confirmed that they will be giving up Lorenzo Colombo to Empoli on a loan with option to buy deal.
Colombo is a product of the youth academy of Milan, and he made his professional debut with Rossoneri at the age of 18. It was just a month later that he played his first Serie A match with Bologna.
Last season Colombo played for Monza, where the 22-year-old made 25 appearances and scored four goals. He began to struggle towards the new year however, as he found it hard to stay healthy. If he can stay on the field, he has the potential to make a difference in Empoli.
