In the 26th minute of the clash between Real Madrid and Getafe, an incident occurred near the sideline. The confrontation took place in the home team’s half, involving Arda Güler, Antonio Rüdiger, and Diego Rico.

The visiting player fell to the ground, and moments later, the Real Madrid defender harshly confronted him. Despite the apparent aggression, VAR remained silent on the matter.

After the full-time whistle, Rico addressed the situation, directing criticism toward the officiating team:

“If the roles were reversed, I’d probably receive a 10-match suspension or even be banned for the entire season. I’m honestly unsure what purpose VAR serves. I believe it should step in during such moments. It wasn’t just accidental; he hit me deliberately.

Earlier, there was a scuffle that ended with a foul, and as he came back to defend, he was shouting things. Then, in the next sequence, I receive the ball, and it’s clear he even pushes his own teammate aside to strike me in the face. If he had caught me in full, he could have taken me straight to the ground,” commented the Spaniard, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
