📜 History of Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1996, and some of his close family members are renowned footballers. At the age of two, his family moved to Turkey to join his uncle – Austin Jay-Jay Okocha (a former Nigeria player), who was playing at Fenerbahce. However, Iwobi’s family relocated to London in 2002, where his uncle had moved to play with Bolton Wanderers.

By age 8, Iwobi was signed to Arsenal, and during this time, Arsenal was everyone’s dream club seeing that they were at the peak of English football. However, his youth career had a rough start as there were several occasions when the club came close to releasing him. He has played for some of the best coaches in the industry such as Arsene Wenger and Carlo Ancelotti, won an FA Cup, and represented Nigeria at a World cup.
