📜 History of Ahmed Musa

Ahmed Musa was born to a multi-religious family. His mother is a staunch Christian while his father is a devoted Muslim. He was born in the Northern part of Nigeria, explaining the sequence of events that led him to join Kano Pillars. A close look into Ahmed Musa’s roots revealed he started out as a goalkeeper in primary school, which makes it a weird flex that he would go on to be a winger to be reckoned with.

His football career kicked off when he joined BGS Football Academy in 2005. He played with BGS till 2008 before he got noticed by the NPFL. Ahmed came into the NPFL playing for Kano Pillars in 2009 and had such an interesting run before moving to VVV-Venlo on loan. From 2011, he started representing Nigeria, which has led him to be one of the notable players for the decade.

Ahmed Musa’s Career

One of the pivotal moments of his career was when he was loaned to JUTH FC in 2008. That move set precedence to his loan to Kano Pillars in 2009 where he had such an outstanding career. In 2010, he was transferred to a Dutch club, VVV-Venlo. It didn’t take him long to make a mark in the club that Goal.com recognized him by putting him in the list of Hot 100 football stars in the world to watch in 2011.

In 2012, Ahmed Musa signed with a Russian club, CSKA Moscow where he got a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career. In 2016, he made his debut in the English Premier League as a Leicester City player.

He scored his first Premier League goal that same year against Crystal Palace. Ahmed Musa had such an underwhelming run in the Premier League that led him to be loaned to his previous club, CSKA Moscow, to round off the 2017 season. Early 2021, he rejoined Kano Pillars which became a headline in the Nigerian News. It was a move that was more about tracing back to his roots before completing his sojourn. Now, he is playing for a Turkish side, Fatih Karagümrük.
