Man Utd is aiming high this season, striving to secure a spot in the next edition of the Champions League. With Ruben Amorim having parted ways with the club, Michael Carrick has taken over to steer the team towards this objective.

However, his current role is only a temporary solution. Alex Crook from talkSPORT has shared some intriguing insights on the matter.

According to reports, Luis Enrique, whose name has been linked to the job at Old Trafford, may not necessarily step in as Manchester United’s manager this summer. The Premier League club’s management reportedly has significant reservations about appointing the Spaniard. One key concern is Enrique’s lack of experience managing in the English league, which raises doubts about his suitability for the role.

It’s no secret that Manchester United’s leadership prioritises candidates with considerable Premier League experience when searching for a new head coach. As such, coaches like Oliver Glasner, Thomas Tuchel, and Roberto De Zerbi are highly regarded options.

Currently placed seventh in the Premier League table with 32 points, Manchester United is preparing for a crucial clash. This Saturday, at 13:30, Carrick’s squad is set to face Manchester City in the highly anticipated derby.

In the encounter between these teams last September, it was The Citizens who came out on top with a dominant 3-0 victory. Looking at their last five clashes, Manchester United secured two wins, Manchester City claimed victory once, and two matches ended in draws.
