Alexis Mac Allister recently stole the spotlight during a match against Nottingham Forest, securing a dramatic winning goal in the final minutes of the game. Reports have also surfaced days ago, linking Manchester United with a potential move for the talented Argentine to bring him to Old Trafford.
Interestingly, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly pushing hard to facilitate the arrival of the central midfielder to strengthen United’s squad. Addressing these swirling rumours, members of the 27-year-old star’s inner circle, including his father Carlos Mac Allister, have spoken out. According to Carlos, the family is awaiting Liverpool’s response regarding an extension to Alexis’ current contract.
“Right now, Alexis is fully focused on Liverpool. We’re waiting on a contract extension offer. Let’s see what the club has in store,” he commented when questioned about the possibility of a transfer to a Premier League rival.
“We’ll wait and see what happens with the contract extension. That’s all there is to it,” he added when asked if the midfielder might consider moving to another league if Liverpool’s proposal proves unsatisfactory.
At present, the Argentine remains committed to performing under the guidance of Arne Slot. However, the absence of a renewed contract might open new possibilities.
Although his current deal runs until 2028, Mac Allister is eager for clarity regarding his career path. Should Liverpool fail to meet his expectations, no potential outcome can be ruled out.
