Liverpool has been one of the most underwhelming teams this season. Despite an impressive start in the league, the reigning champions have fallen out of form, struggling to secure wins. Over their last thirteen matches, they have only managed to clinch four victories.

This poor performance in the Premier League has resulted in their drop to 8th place on the table. Fortunately for them, other teams are also struggling, which has kept the gap to the top spot manageable at just 9 points.

The month ahead is pivotal for The Reds. In December, they will play five league fixtures alongside a crucial Champions League match. However, immediately after their clash with Brighton, the team will lose Mohamed Salah, who will be heading off to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Salah will be unavailable from December 15 until Egypt’s campaign in the tournament concludes. The African championship is scheduled to run until January 18, the date set for the final. This could mean the player missing up to six games, including a high-profile encounter with Arsenal.

A shorter absence is possible should Egypt fail to progress beyond the group stage, ending their run by the end of the year. In the group rounds, Egypt will face Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Unlike his outstanding form in past seasons, Salah has struggled to reach similar heights this time around. He has made 18 appearances so far, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Earlier in 2025, Salah extended his contract with The Reds, committing to the club until the summer of 2027.
