Manchester United made significant investments during the summer transfer window, spending around 250 million euros to strengthen their squad. The highlight of their summer activity was the acquisition of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for nearly 76 million euros. The Slovenian striker, after a somewhat challenging start in the Premier League, has now scored twice and is starting to find his rhythm within the team.
Despite their hefty spending, the team under Ruben Amorim has faced inconsistency in performance. After seven matches, they currently sit in 10th place on the Premier League table with 10 points. The Portuguese manager remains hopeful of bolstering the attack during the winter transfer market by bringing in another forward to enhance competition up front.
According to Ben Jacobs from “GiveMeSport,” Karl Etta Eyong has emerged as a potential target for the Red Devils. The 21-year-old striker for Levante has been in excellent form this season in Spain. The Cameroonian has already netted five goals and provided three assists in just eight appearances.
Last season, Etta Eyong was part of Villarreal CF but was unable to secure a spot in the first team. He transferred to Levante over the summer for approximately three million euros and has quickly made significant strides in his development. In October, he debuted for the Cameroon national team alongside Bryan Mbeumo in a World Cup qualifying match against Mauritius. Interestingly, this duo might soon team up as Manchester United’s attacking partnership at Old Trafford.
Spanish media reports indicate that both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are monitoring the development of Etta Eyong, underlining the immense talent of the young forward. The Cameroonian striker is under contract with Levante until June 2029.
