Chelsea is enjoying a remarkable period, having secured a spot in the Champions League, claimed victory in the Europa Conference League, and lifted the FIFA Club World Cup. The Blues have even greater aspirations for the upcoming season, driving their management to take an active role in the transfer market. This summer transfer window has already seen players like Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Mamadou Sarr, Kendry Paez, and Dario Essugo arrive at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea’s recruitment drive is far from over, as the club is finalising yet another significant addition to its roster. The highly-rated Jorrel Hato is on the verge of becoming the latest signing for the London side.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s social media updates, Chelsea has reached an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam to acquire the 19-year-old left-back. The transfer fee is set to exceed €40 million, and Hato is expected to sign a seven-year deal with the club.
The Dutch international, who has already earned six caps for his national team, has been a standout performer for Ajax throughout his career. A versatile defender capable of playing as both a left-back and a center-back, Hato joined the Ajax youth academy in 2018 after advancing through the youth systems of Sparta Rotterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
loIn the Eredivisie, the promising full-back has made 75 appearances, scoring three goals and providing eight assists. The current market value of the Netherlands international is estimated at €35 million.
