Galatasaray Declines Napoli’s Offer: Osimhen’s Future Uncertain

Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce, 2025

Victor Osimhen spent the last season playing in Turkey, representing Galatasaray on loan. The Istanbul-based club is keen on making his stay permanent and has initiated official talks with Napoli regarding a transfer.

However, the two parties have yet to come to an agreement, with divergent views on some key conditions in the proposed deal. A specific clause in the contract remains a sticking point.

Fresh insight into the negotiation process has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano. The esteemed journalist reported that Galatasaray turned down the latest proposal from Napoli. The Serie A champions demanded €40 million upfront, an additional €35 million to be paid in 2026, and a percentage of any future transfer fee.

The Turkish club is reportedly open to paying the initial amount requested. However, they propose spreading the €35 million over instalments until 2027. Additionally, they are unwilling to include the clause involving a percentage of a potential future transfer fee in the agreement.

At this stage, negotiations have been paused but are expected to resume if Napoli adjusts their conditions. There is still ample time to finalise the transfer, as the summer window remains open until September 1. During his time with Galatasaray, Osimhen played 41 matches, scoring an outstanding 37 goals and providing 8 assists.

He not only helped the team win the Turkish championship but also claimed the Super Lig Golden Boot. In the top scorers’ list, he surpassed notable players, including Krzysztof Piątek.
