Hansi Flick appeared visibly frustrated after the match at Montjuic against PSG. The German manager frequently displayed his irritation on the sidelines and openly admitted post-match that his team failed to deliver their best performance. According to Flick, Barcelona delivered two vastly different halves, with the team clearly losing its rhythm in the second part of the game.

The coach highlighted fatigue among the midfield leaders as a key factor. Pedri and Frenkie de Jong, having played numerous minutes in recent weeks, struggled to maintain their sharpness. Flick noted that in the second half, several players lacked the energy needed to match the opposition’s intensity.

Barcelona relinquished their lead when PSG managed to equalize. From that moment on, the European champions took control and increased the tempo of the game. Flick explained that his squad failed to maintain crucial cohesion, which allowed the Parisian side to exploit available spaces. “The team needs to function as a unit—this is critical for us, and today that element was missing,” the German emphasized.

The moment that frustrated Flick the most was the sequence leading to PSG’s decisive goal. With the score tied at 1-1, PSG executed a swift counterattack, with Hakimi easily setting up Goncalo Ramos. “When you’re defending a result for so many minutes, you must show greater intelligence in the final moments,” Flick remarked.

Despite the loss, the coach acknowledged the quality of the opposition. He praised PSG’s freshness and pointed out that every substitute raised the team’s level of play.

– They have an amazing philosophy, young players, and incredible energy – he emphasized. Flick announced that the post-match analysis would highlight areas for improvement and aid in rebuilding the team ahead of upcoming games.
