Group D Predictions – Betting on France, Isn’t it Obvious?

The French team puts its title back on the line! Les Bleus will be looking to avoid the curse of the title holder. In theory, if Didier Deschamps’ players are in good form, it should be enough to guarantee the group’s first place.

Behind them, the battle should be fierce between Denmark, semi-finalists of the last Euro, and Tunisia, who are still among the best African teams. Qualified after two playoff games, Australia will not have an easy tournament but could be the surprise of the group.

2022 World Cup Group D Favourites and Outsiders

The defending champions, France, seem to have all that it takes to go through this first round of the World Cup without any hitch. They will nevertheless have to watch out for Denmark, who defeated them a few weeks ago at the Stade de France in the Nations League (1-2).

Behind them, Tunisia also seem to be well placed to beat the odds. The Eagles of Carthage are often at the rendez-vous during the Africa Cup of Nations. They can also manage to pull their weight. Australia will try to do well in this tournament.

Group D Predictions – Favourites

  • France: Les Bleus are very experienced in big competitions and will want to do everything to go all the way again this year. Didier Deschamps’ team seems to be the favourite to finish at the top of their group.
  • Denmark: This amazing team never ceases to impress. After their surprise semi-final performance at the last Euro, the Scandinavian nation possesses good players and has confirmed this by defeating France in June during the Nations League.

Group D Predictions – Outsiders

  • Tunisia: The Tunisians have a shot to play in this competition. They will have to do well in the game against Denmark from the beginning. Tunisia have some players capable of making the difference like Khazri.
  • Australia: This would be the big odd and it seems risky to count on the Oceanian country. They qualified after two victories in the cup-like games against the United Arab Emirates and Peru. It will therefore be an opportunity to gauge the worth of this team.
