The Serbian champions are leaving no room for surprises this season – their primary goal is to secure a spot in the Champions League. Crvena Zvezda faces two more challenges, the first being a showdown with Lech Poznań. As the two-legged clash with Kolejorz approaches, the Red and White squad is finalizing yet another signing during this transfer window.
Mahmudu Bajo is set to join the Belgrade-based team. This 20-year-old midfielder has represented Gambia on four occasions. Initially part of Granada’s youth setup, he moved to Slovakia in the summer of 2023 to join Podbrezová. A year later, he was signed by Dunajská Streda for €350,000. Now, the MOL Aréna club is set for a significant profit, with the defensive midfielder being sold for €3.5 million.
So far in this transfer window, Crvena Zvezda has already brought in seven new players. Under the guidance of Vladan Milojević, names like Marko Arnautović, Milos Veljković, Nair Tiknizian, Rodrigão, Matheus, Nikola Stanković, and Balsa Popović have joined the ranks. Additionally, Dusan Tadić is expected to make the move to Belgrade.
When will the matches against Lech take place? The first leg is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, at 8:30 PM. The return match will occur on Tuesday, August 12, at 9:00 PM.
