FC Barcelona is actively keeping an eye on the transfer market in search of a new striker. This move is driven by the expected departure of Robert Lewandowski following the conclusion of the current season.

The contract of the 37-year-old forward is set to expire, and the Catalan club reportedly has no intentions of extending the deal with the Polish national team captain. The La Liga champions are determined to find a suitable replacement well in advance.

Some big names like Julian Alvarez, Dusan Vlahović, and Serhou Guirassy have been linked with a potential move to Camp Nou. However, according to Ekrem Konur, FC Barcelona might opt for a less conventional, yet more forward-thinking approach. Scouts from the Spanish champions have been closely watching the Africa Cup of Nations, where they are monitoring Christian Kofane’s performances firsthand from the stands.

The 19-year-old Cameroonian has already scored twice in the tournament, playing a crucial role in helping his team secure a spot in the quarter-finals. Barcelona’s management is contemplating making an offer for him during the winter or summer transfer window, though they face stiff competition from other football giants, including Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa.

Christian Kofane currently plays in the Bundesliga, wearing the jersey of Bayer Leverkusen. The talented young striker joined the BayArena in July 2025 for a fee exceeding 5 million euros from Albacete Balompié, giving him valuable experience in Spanish football.

This season, he has participated in 23 matches, scoring five goals and providing five assists, with his market value set at 22 million euros.
