Carlo Ancelotti recently gave an exclusive interview to As.com. During the conversation, the Italian coach shared his thoughts primarily on Los Blancos’ performances, along with some remarks about coach Xabi Alonso.
Under the guidance of the Basque coach, Real experienced something rare – the team failed to secure a win in two consecutive matches. They suffered a loss against Liverpool (0-1) and then ended in a goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano (0-0). Following these matches, Xabi Alonso faced significant criticism, much like the aftermath of the derby against Atlético Madrid (2-5).
“A draw for Real Madrid is often perceived as a prelude to a crisis. However, their overall performance this season has been remarkable. What more could one demand from them?” rhetorically noted Ancelotti.
Since taking over as Real Madrid’s manager, the former Bayer Leverkusen coach has led the team through 22 matches. So far, Xabi Alonso has achieved an average of 2.41 points per game. The Madrid-based side has secured 17 victories, recorded two draws, and suffered three defeats. The team’s goal tally stands at 45 scored and 20 conceded.
Currently, Real Madrid leads La Liga with a total of 31 points, holding a three-point advantage over FC Barcelona. After the international break, Los Blancos will face Elche in their next match. The game is scheduled for November 23 at 9:00 PM. In this encounter, Real Madrid will aim for their 11th win of the season.
