Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Brazilian side EC Bahia concerning the transfer of Alejo Veliz. Reports suggest that all terms have been finalised.
The total deal is expected to be worth approximately 9 million euros, with additional performance-based bonuses. This marks the definitive conclusion of the Argentine forward’s time in North London.
The striker is currently on loan at Rosario Central, the club where he began his career. He intends to complete the season there before making the move to Brazil. As a result, his medical tests and the official signing of the contract are planned for June this year.
The 22-year-old joined Spurs in 2023, hailed as one of the brightest young prospects from South America. However, his stint in England did not live up to expectations. Game time was scarce, and his sole goal came during a league match that ultimately ended in defeat.
Loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol also failed to yield results, leading the English club to choose a permanent sale for the player. EC Bahia, his next destination, finished in 7th place in last season’s Brazilian Serie A.
