Teams: Ivory Coast (hosts), Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau
Host Ivory Coast is joined by Nigeria as the giants of Group A and are also strongly considered as Afcon favourites. Also, Equatorial Guinea & Guinea-Bissau have qualified for four straight nations cup tournaments & looking to cause upset.
Group B
Teams: Egypt, Ghana Cape Verde, Mozambique.
7 times nations cup winner Egypt, and 4 times winner Ghanan are expected to get to the knockout stage of the tournament. But we might see an ambitious Cape Verde or Mozambique oust any of these big guys.
Group C
Senegal (holders), Cameroon, Guinea, Gambia

As there was only space for 48 teams, the eight lowest-seed teams were placed in a preliminary round. The top four were allowed into the qualifiers.
Over the course of the qualifiers, half the teams were eliminated. 24 teams moved on to the final tournament of the Africa Cup of Nations.
