Lamine Yamal faced an injury at the end of April, sparking concern among fans of the Spanish national team. During the match between FC Barcelona and Celta Vigo, he attempted a penalty kick and unfortunately sustained a hamstring injury.
Since then, efforts have been directed towards ensuring the 18-year-old could make a full recovery in time for the 2026 World Cup. The team’s coach recently provided an update about his condition.
– The best news is that Lamine Yamal has fully recovered. He feels great and is training well. We are closely following the medical team’s instructions. He’s ready to play tomorrow, but he’s not yet fit enough for the full ninety minutes, the coach commented.
While Luis de la Fuente ruled out Yamal playing the entire game, he reassured fans that the young talent is in good health following his injury. However, the Barcelona player is not in full physical condition to play a full match. The coach of the Spanish national team confirmed that Yamal would appear for part of the game.
– He will be able to play for a certain period, but we cannot determine exactly how many minutes. He’s ready to step onto the pitch for part of the match. If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t even be listed on the bench – added Luis de la Fuente, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
Last season, Yamal played 45 matches, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists. This ongoing World Cup marks his debut in the tournament. Two years ago, he triumphed over Spain to claim the European Championship title.
