Inter Milan is nearing the end of the campaign with hopes of securing a domestic double. They are just one victory away from clinching the Serie A title. A win against Parma over the weekend will confirm their 21st league championship in history.

Additionally, the Nerazzurri are contenders for the Italian Cup trophy. They will face Lazio in the final, scheduled for Wednesday (May 13) at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

Unfortunately, the team might have to manage without Hakan Calhanoglu for their final league matches, as well as the Italian Cup final. According to a report from fcinter1908.it, the Turkish midfielder has sustained an injury to the soleus muscle in his calf. Medical examinations conducted on Monday morning confirmed the diagnosis.

So far, Inter has not disclosed how long the player’s recovery will take. However, reports suggest that his participation in the Lazio clash and the remaining Serie A fixtures is highly doubtful. There is even a possibility that his season might already be over.

He was absent from the previous game against Torino due to the same issue. His last appearance was on April 21 in the Italian Cup semifinal against Como, where he delivered an exceptional performance, scoring twice and providing an assist to help his team advance to the final.

Injuries have plagued Calhanoglu this season, leading to several enforced breaks for the 32-year-old. Despite this, he has managed to feature in 30 matches, scoring 12 goals and contributing 7 assists. His current contract with Il Biscione is set to run until June 2027.
