Former striker expresses support for including the number 10 in the World Cup squad and hints at Ancelotti’s willingness to consider the player
Ronaldo Nazário, the legendary former player, voiced his belief that Neymar should be part of the next World Cup roster. In an interview, he stated that if Neymar is in good physical condition, he would definitely select him for the tournament. Ronaldo also suggested that Carlo Ancelotti might be open to including the Brazilian star on his final list of players.
During the discussion, Ronaldo highlighted how Neymar could still be a pivotal figure for the squad, even if he’s not on the field for every single minute. He underlined the immense technical ability that Neymar possesses, capable of influencing critical moments in matches.
“Recently, Neymar has been dealing with significant injuries, but you don’t need to overanalyze to decide whether to take Neymar to the World Cup. There are many players to choose from, but if he is physically fit, I’d definitely include him,” Ronaldo stated.
“He could be the type of player who supports the team effectively, even if he doesn’t play every game or every single minute. However, his technical prowess is undeniable, and he’s demonstrated his value consistently throughout his career,” Ronaldo added.
While offering his support, Ronaldo was also clear that Neymar’s physical readiness will ultimately play a crucial role in determining his inclusion in the squad.
Ronaldo also voiced confidence in Ancelotti’s judgment. According to him, the coach is likely to consider Neymar if the forward is fully recovered.
“I will root for him to be in great physical shape and available for Ancelotti. If he’s fit, I am sure that Ancelotti will take him to the World Cup,” he stated.
