AC Milan achieved victory against Pisa on Friday, with Luka Modrić taking center stage as the man of the match. The seasoned Croatian midfielder secured the win with a decisive goal in the 85th minute, leading the Rossoneri to triumph.

His goal was not only vital for the match but also historically significant, as he became the oldest player in Serie A history to score from open play.

Milan is eager to ensure that this isn’t Modrić’s final season with the team. His contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, although the club holds an option to extend it by an additional year. Should Milan qualify for the Champions League, Modrić’s salary could increase to approximately 4.5 million euros net.

However, financial aspects are not the only factors influencing his decision. His physical condition, mental readiness, and the role he plays within the squad are equally critical to him.

Massimiliano Allegri has developed a strong professional relationship with Modrić, built on mutual respect. The coach values his wealth of experience and winning mindset.

For Modrić, Milan feels like home, where he enjoys a close bond with the entire team. Nonetheless, the Croatian star is determined not to be relegated to a substitute role; he wants to contribute significantly to the team’s successes.

The ultimate decision rests in Modrić’s hands. He plans to make the choice before heading to the World Cup with the Croatian national team. Optimism quietly prevails within the Milan camp.

Club officials are hopeful that the former Real Madrid player will opt to remain in Milan for another season, continuing to make his mark in Serie A history.
