Real Madrid secured a 1-0 victory over Benfica Lisbon in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs. However, post-match discussions have largely centered around a heated exchange between Vinicius Junior and Gianluca Prestiani. One of Los Blancos’ midfielders shared his thoughts on the matter.

– This is unacceptable. Vini told us that the guy called him a “monkey.” On the other hand, the other player claimed he was referred to as a “f****t” or something like that – said Aurelien Tchouameni in an interview with Movistar, as reported by Marca.

– At the same time, Vini told us we need to keep playing. I don’t know how to comment on it right now. We’ll discuss it more, but it’s unacceptable – emphasized the Frenchman.

– I also said that if an issue arises, we will all leave together. Overall, we talked it out and resolved that we had to win – concluded Tchouameni.

The 43-time French international is under contract with the Spanish league giant until the end of June 2028. This season, Tchouameni has made 33 appearances, recording one assist.

The Madrid team will face the Portuguese side again for the return leg on February 25th at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The match is scheduled to kick off at 21:00.

Before that happens, the Royals have some challenges ahead in La Liga. This coming Saturday, Real will face Osasuna in an away match.
