Madrid is once again buzzing with rumours surrounding a potential coaching change. Alvaro Arbeloa has found his future at the club under scrutiny yet again.

This followed Real’s defeat against Benfica in the Champions League (2-4), resulting in a missed opportunity to secure direct qualification to the Round of 16. Instead, the team will now need to compete in two additional playoff matches as part of the European competitions.

Interestingly, the Spanish media quickly speculated on the board’s preferred candidate for the coaching position. Surprisingly, it’s not Juergen Klopp but instead Unai Emery. When asked about Real Madrid, the current Aston Villa manager gave no direct response.

Some reports suggest there has even been initial communication between Real Madrid and Emery. El Nacional took it a step further by claiming that the 54-year-old has outlined a specific condition before agreeing to a deal with the Spanish giants.

Allegedly, Emery wants the club to part ways with Vinicius Junior. The former Sevilla manager aims to shift Kylian Mbappe to a wing position, paving the way for Real Madrid to bring in a new striker. Reportedly, Emery’s ideal signing would be Morgan Rogers, a current player at Aston Villa.

Emery reportedly believes that Rogers’ playing style would fit Real Madrid perfectly. Similar to Vinicius now, Rogers could alternate between roles, serving as both a winger and a central forward.
