Bayern Munich is looking to reinforce its defensive line in the summer of next year. Doubts surround the long-term future of one of their key players. Dayot Upamecano has yet to extend his current contract, which is set to expire in June 2026. While contract negotiations are ongoing, Bayern is also scouting potential central defenders to bolster its squad.
One of the standout names on their radar is Marc Guehi, who is attracting significant interest from multiple top clubs. Last summer, he was reportedly close to a move to Liverpool, but the transfer fell through as Crystal Palace, his current team, did not manage to secure a replacement for him in time.
Due to his expiring contract, many European clubs are eager to capitalize on the opportunity for a free transfer. Guehi has drawn attention from giants such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Now, Bayern Munich has officially entered the race to sign the 25-year-old.
According to information shared by Sky Sport Deutschland, a meeting between Guehi and Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is expected soon. Eberl is keen to personally present him with an offer and persuade him to make the move to the Bundesliga.
Guehi has spent his entire career in England so far. He began his journey with Chelsea and transferred to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021. For the Eagles, he has made 179 appearances, scoring 10 goals. His achievements include winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield.
