Liverpool started the season with maximum points from their first five league matches, but recent performances suggest the team has hit a rough patch. They have lost three consecutive games, dropping them to third place in the Premier League standings.

A significant factor behind these results is the underwhelming performance of Mohamed Salah, whose current form is far below his usual standards. With only two goals and two assists in the first eight matches, fans are growing concerned about his sudden decline in performance.

Speculation is mounting that Salah may struggle to regain his best form and that his time at Anfield could become increasingly difficult. Over the summer, the star forward reflected on his future and seriously considered a move to Saudi Arabia, but ultimately decided against it. Despite this decision, rumours persist about a potential transfer as early as this winter, though Liverpool appears unwilling to entertain such a move.

The club maintains that now is not the right time for Salah to leave, as the team is not yet prepared to part with their long-standing attacking talisman. Recent high-profile acquisitions like Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak still need time to adapt and grow into key roles within the squad, making Salah’s presence indispensable for the moment.

The league champions are not planning to push for a split during the winter or the next summer transfer window. In fact, it’s possible that Salah could fulfil his current contract, set to expire in mid-2027.

However, the ultimate decision lies with the player himself. Should Salah choose to pursue a move, Liverpool is unlikely to stand in his way.
