Dušan Vlahović, who has already netted four goals in the first five appearances for Juventus across Serie A and the Champions League, remains a significant challenge for the club despite his strong form. The Serbian striker comes with a hefty price tag of around 20 million euros gross per season, a financial burden Juventus sees no viable way to reduce.
As suggested by “La Gazzetta dello Sport,” his presence hinders the growth of other forwards, namely Jonathan David and Lois Openda. David joined from Lille, while Openda arrived on loan from Leipzig with an obligation to purchase. Both are seen as the future of Juventus’ attacking lineup but have yet to fully establish themselves through consistent performances.
Vlahović, however, is reluctant to extend his current contract, which expires in June 2026, under less favorable terms. During the summer, he rejected several offers, including one from AC Milan, as they did not match the lucrative salary he currently earns in Turin. His future might ultimately hinge on the financial considerations and the sporting objectives of the club, particularly because from June 2026, he could leave as a free agent.
According to “Bild,” Bayern Munich has shown significant interest in the striker. While the German powerhouse benefits from Harry Kane’s stellar form, speculations about Kane’s potential return to the Premier League after the 2026 World Cup have been intensifying. Vlahović has long been on Bayern’s radar, and signing him would pose no financial concerns for the Bavarian club.
“La Gazzetta dello Sport” also identifies Chelsea and Manchester United as possible destinations for the Serbian forward.
Both clubs have invested significant amounts to strengthen their offensive lines, yet they may still explore the possibility of recruiting a new striker. However, a transfer during the January window appears unlikely.
