Kylian Mbappe is undoubtedly one of football’s brightest stars. Currently, the French sensation plays for Real Madrid, having joined the Spanish club last summer on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, few people know that the 26-year-old’s career path could have taken a different turn. Long before his move from AS Monaco, he had interesting offers, including ones from the Bundesliga.

While attending the most recent French national team camp, he gave an interview to the daily newspaper Bild. During this conversation with German media, he revealed that Bayern Munich had shown interest in signing him. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig were also vying for his signature.

Many clubs reached out to me. Bayern Munich approached me when I was younger and preparing to leave Monaco. Borussia Dortmund showed interest, as did RB Leipzig. These are the three clubs I remember. Perhaps there were even more, but I just can’t recall. Now, many ask, but it’s already too late,” Kylian Mbappe shared.

Mbappe also disclosed that he still receives various offers, but he feels that those opportunities have passed. After many years, he fulfilled his dream of playing for Real Madrid and has no intention of leaving Santiago Bernabeu anytime soon.

His current contract with Los Blancos extends until June 2029. So far, he has recorded 47 goals and 5 assists in 62 appearances for the Royal Whites.
