Kane Calls for a Stronger Bayern Squad

FIFA Club World Cup final, Chelsea versus Paris Saint Germain; Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea applauds their supporters

Bayern Munich secured victory over Stuttgart, claiming the German Super Cup. Luis Diaz, who made a summer switch from Anfield to Allianz Arena, found the back of the net in the match. Despite the team’s triumph, Harry Kane has expressed concerns leading into the new season. He believes the squad lacks the depth necessary to compete for top honours, even though the starting eleven is of high quality.

This summer, Bayern saw the departures of players like Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane, while only managing to strengthen their attack by bringing in Diaz. The club reportedly pursued several high-profile targets, such as Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola, Nico Williams, and Rafael Leao. However, none of these players made the move, and Stuttgart continues to resist selling Nick Woltemade.

Following Bayern’s Super Cup win, Kane admitted he is hopeful for further reinforcements at the club. He expressed doubts about the current squad’s ability to secure domestic and European success.

“This is probably one of the smallest squads I’ve ever been part of. The transfer window is still open, so decisions can still be made. We have a few young players who have shown promise during pre-season. The squad feels a bit thin, but that’s not something in our control,” said the star striker of the German champions.

Who could Bayern bring in soon? While the transfer of Woltemade remains uncertain, the club is also reportedly working on signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
