Antony spent the spring half of the season on loan at Real Betis, joining them from Manchester United. The Brazilian winger delivered an impressive performance in La Liga, featuring in 26 matches for the Andalusian club, scoring nine goals, and contributing five assists.
Despite his solid showing in Spain, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim does not foresee a place for the 25-year-old in his plans for the following season. Recently, Saudi club Al-Nassr submitted an initial bid for the player. However, the Red Devils are holding out for a fee of at least €50 million for their winger.
According to the Spanish daily “Sport,” Antony has declined the opportunity to move to the Middle East. Instead, he has reportedly informed his representatives that he wishes to remain in Europe, expressing a strong preference for a return to Spain. Antony’s primary goal is to rejoin Betis, where he thrived both on and off the pitch during his recent stint.
The Betis management is also eager to continue their collaboration with the player. However, the Sevilla-based club must first negotiate a suitable transfer arrangement, with another loan deal including a purchase option being the most likely scenario. Antony’s contract at Old Trafford is set to run until the end of June 2027.
