Real Madrid secured their progression to the next stage of the FIFA Club World Cup with relative ease. The La Liga powerhouse closed out their campaign in Group H with seven points, edging out Al-Hilal by two. This marked a successful debut phase for Xabi Alonso as part of the Royal Whites. The Spanish manager shared his thoughts following the 3-0 victory over RB Salzburg.

“We are pleased with our performance and the result. Advancing as group leaders gives us momentum to push forward. Juventus is one of Europe’s historic clubs, with a strong team, and it will definitely be a challenging match,” remarked Xabi Alonso, as reported by Fifa.com.

The Madrid squad will face their next opponents on July 1 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami as part of the tournament taking place in the United States. They will take on Juventus, with the match scheduled to kick off at 9:00 PM (CET).

Real Madrid’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup comes on the heels of a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign. The team struggled domestically, finishing second to FC Barcelona in multiple competitions, including La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup. As for the upcoming La Liga season, Madrid’s journey will begin on the third weekend of August.
