Felipe Melo firmly believes that Filipe Luís will become the future coach of the Brazilian national team. Given the remarkable achievements and the way Flamengo plays, the Globo Group commentator trusts in the former defender’s ability to one day take up the position currently held by Dorival Júnior.

On ‘Seleção Sportv,’ the former midfielder emphasised the repertoire of the team that confused Fluminense’s defence in the first leg of the Carioca Championship. In his view, Filipe Luís’s success could pave the way for the emergence of other coaches.

“I think Filipe Luís is the individual who will soon lead our Brazilian national team. I hope he succeeds greatly in opening doors, including at the European football level. He truly deserves it,” stated Felipe Melo.

Filipe Luís’s Meteoric Rise

Since taking over as manager of Flamengo, Filipe Luís has only suffered one defeat and has secured three titles. Beyond the statistics, the team’s style of play is impressive. In addition to offensive prowess, the Rubro-Negro is characterised by its quick ball recovery.

For many analysts, the football played significantly resembles, with proper adjustments, the golden era of the 2019 Flamengo led by Jorge Jesus.

Benja Confirms Felipe Melo’s Forecast

Benjamin Back, known as Benja, has confirmed that Filipe Luís will be the next coach of the Brazilian national team. The CNN host does not rule out the possibility of seeing the former left-back replace the under-pressure Dorival Júnior.

“Filipe Luís is the next manager of the Brazilian national team. He had an outstanding career in Europe, came back here, played for that great Flamengo team, and then became a coach. He is a Brazilian with a European football culture,” stated Benja.

“If Dorival falls now, I think they’ll call him,” he added.
